For close to a century, Boothwyn Pharmacy has been meeting the needs of patients by preparing compounded medications.  These medications are prescribed by a provider when a patient has a need for a customized formulation or if a medication is commercially unavailable or in short supply.  Boothwyn Pharmacy has the capabilities to prepare sterile medications (e.g., injectable or I.V. medications) as well as those that do not require sterility (e.g. oral or topical medications) for humans and animals.

Boothwyn Pharmacy holds the highly respected PCAB accreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care.  Moreover, we test GLP-1 medications that we make for sterility, endotoxins, and GLP-1 potency before shipping them – period.  This rigorous process exceeds United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards and puts patient safety first.

A prescription is required for a compounded medication in every single instance.  Providers, such as physicians or veterinarians, work closely with compounding pharmacists at Boothwyn Pharmacy to ensure that a formulation best meets the needs of the patient.  This tends to be a more direct relationship than the process for a traditional, non-compounded medication.  To better understand this relationship, think of a triangle with the three points being: provider, pharmacist, and patient.
